When I found this pocket-sized book at the register at the Ivy Bookshop in Baltimore I knew I’d found kindred spirits. I can’t help it. Like the boy in “The Sixth Sense,” who sees dead people, I see typos, grammatical errors and misplaced apostrophes all over. And now I wished I had taken photos of them– like of the highway sign I saw recently on the Baltimore beltway advising of a ramp closing for construction “on Wendsdy.” The photos of bloopered signs and shake-your-head butchered language that fill the pages of this book are the fruits of a Facebook group of the same name founded by Sharon Eliza Nichols, now a law student in Alabama. More than 350,000 Facebook members contributed more than 7,000 images, some funnier than others, but all worth a laugh. Amazon.com link here. But if you can, buy it locally and support a local, independent bookseller.
